Skills

This section covers the learnable skills that we can develop to improve our lives.

There are quite a few driving articles in this section because driving is an important skill in today's society, and the vast number of drivers on the roads really shouldn't have a licence at all. It's not just about getting from A to B, it's about doing it in the safest possible manner for you and other road users. More people are killed with cars than guns.

How to drive in snow and ice

Driving in snow and ice is not really an "advanced driving" skill. If you don't know how to do it, you really shouldn't have a driving licence.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of people on the roads seem quite eager to demonstrate just how little they know about driving in these conditions. Given enough time, I suppose they will have their licence taken away from them anyway.

How many people realise when they've done something wrong and learn from it to try not to do it again?

Very few.

The machine gets slower and slower as they fill it up with all the viruses, trojans, adwares and spywares that they inadvertently install until 18 months later they can barely use the machine. At this point they think it's broken and go and buy another one.

Learning Languages

There are literally hundreds of home study courses available for languages. Some of these are tried and tested, some of them have huge marketting budgets and some of them are just written by somebody who can speak the language with no knowledge of teaching at all.
